Miquel McMoore

Founder / Managing Director

Miquel Purvis McMoore, a native of Minneapolis, MN is the Founder and Managing Director of kpCompanies – a powerhouse search firm headquartered in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Established as kpRecruiting in 2000, the company quickly made gains by successfully matching top-notch professional and executive talent with multinational, US Fortune 1000, mid-size and small companies such as United Health Group, Medtronic and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, just to name a few.

Miquel describes herself as a mother, sister, daughter and friend as well as an entrepreneur, recruiter, coach, mentor and mentee. Her relationship connections are key to both her personal and professional lives and on any given day, she is fluidly and adeptly adding quality and value to all. “it isn’t juggling—it is life!”

Prior to starting kpCompanies, she successfully participated in INROADS, Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter, where she was offered full-time employment with her sponsoring company, US West Communications. It was there that her innate ability to build key relationships and savvy in identifying team leaders and ideal opportunities became evident as she was exceptional in closing multi-million-dollar sales projects. She then transitioned into the recruiting industry quickly becoming a top producer with one of the largest and strongest search firms. Additionally, McMoore taught business courses at Patrick Henry High School in the Minneapolis Public Schools and lead the corporate talent team at Supervalu in her role as Sr. Manager,Talent Acquisition.

McMoore remains an active part of the local business community currently serving on the Board of Directors of Summit Academy OIC and Greater Twin Cities United Way. McMoore served on the Board of Directors of the Jeremiah Program and Goodwill/Easter Seals of Minneapolis. McMoore earned a BS in Business Administration from Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. She takes the most pride in being the mother of her two children, Mckenzie and Miles.

Aiesha Matthews

Director of Operations/ Executive Recruiter

Aiesha Matthews, a native of Eden Prairie, MN is an Executive Recruiter here at kpCompanies – a powerhouse search firm headquartered in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Aiesha has 15 years of agency and corporate recruitment, 20+ years of Outside sales experience with a love of digital Marketing and creating as an outlet. She is a serial entrepreneur with high business acumen that she applies in her role to help take kpCompanies to the next level!

Aiesha describes herself as a mild motivator, personable, energetic, forward thinking and always considering opportunities for the future. She brings an optimistic attitude with her in every facet of life! She has always had a knack for building relationships, her parents call her a social-Butterfly, because no matter where she is on the track- lining up for a race, at an event, or at the grocery store she has never met a stranger!

This statement is true to this day! Throughout her career, she spent a significant amount of time in Sales, Marketing and Recruitment. Where she honed the skill of becoming fast friends and through trial and error, learned to ask the right questions to close the sale, she has earned various recognition and achievement awards like Rookie of Year, Employee of the Month, and Top salesperson for hitting her sales goals continuously at 91%+.

Aiesha is a graduate of the prestigious Florida A&M, an HBCU where she earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration, followed by her MBA from Kaplan University. She is the Mother of 2 rambunctious and busy boys (Jaeden 13, and Chace 4). She enjoys spending her time being creative, entrepreneurial (she is developing an entertainment app) and carting her kids around to sports activities, and spending much needed quality time with loved one!

Joelle Allen is proud to have worked in various capacities with kpCompanies almost since its inception. Her current role is to assist in the search process by making sure that all of the pieces of the puzzle come together seamlessly. As the liaison between the client organization and kpCompanies’ team of expert recruiters and sourcers, she ensures clients are informed and engaged and that both the client and candidate experience is top notch.

Joelle also serves as Chief Inclusion Officer at Interaction Traction, Inc. a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategy & Engagement firm established in 2004. Using a mix of education, community outreach and strategic planning, Interaction Traction helps organizations create authentic interactions with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally. The alliance is part of the rich background of diversity and inclusion expertise that kpCompanies is able to offer its clients like its’ recruitment centered implicit bias training that has proven useful in helping companies retain diverse talent. Interaction Traction, Inc. is based in St. Louis Park and has produced work for organizations across the nation including: Pohlad Companies, Minnesota Opera, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, The Kennedy Center, Minnesota Twins, FedEx, African American Leadership Forum, Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, to name a few.

Prior to starting Interaction Traction, Allen led Noland Company’s showroom division as Corporate Marketing Manager. During that time, she crafted Marketing, PR and showroom distribution strategy. She led community engagement initiatives, reinvented the company’s advertising co-op program and streamlined showroom supplier processes for 48 showrooms across the Southeast.

Joelle lives in Golden Valley with her family. She currently serves as the chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission for the the City of Golden Valley. She is a member of the Forbes Communication Council, member of the National Black MBA Association, and sits on several boards including the Minnesota Opera, Americana Community Bank and PRN Alumni Foundation. She holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas where she is an Adjunct Professor teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in business.


Training + Performance Coach

Terra Carbert, a native of Hopkins, MN is the Training + Performance Coach here at kpCompanies – a powerhouse search firm headquartered in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Terra’s background includes a mix of agency recruitment, in-house recruitment, recruitment marketing, and corporate recruiting leadership.

Terra describes herself as a human who gives a damn. She brings this attitude with her into her life as a mother, sister, daughter and friend as well as an entrepreneur, recruiter, coach, and volunteer. Her passion for innovative and personalized approaches to talent acquisition, data-driven recruitment, and a high bar for candidate and client care are keys to her professional success.

Throughout her career, Terra spent a fair amount of time recruiting in the world of manufacturing and engineering. Doing this work helped her recognize how much inclusion in education matters leading her to a pursue STEM and Trade education as areas to serve the community. She has volunteered with Women in Safety Excellence, Women in Construction, Society of Women Engineers, The Works Museum, The Bakken Museum, Project Scientist, and serves on the board of SciMathMn.

Prior to starting with kpCompanies she gained experience working with organizations of all sizes from small start-up to Fortune 100. In her work, Terra helped organizations transform how they think about the hiring continuum. From crafting inclusive job posts, extending the reach of the recruiting team, through ensuring objective hiring processes, clients who work with Terra always walk away with new insights about how to hire better.


Executive Recruiter

Mat Peisert is an Executive Recruiter for kpCompanies. He graduated from Blaine (MN) High School and went on to obtain his BS in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University. Prior to working at kpCompanies, Mat held a variety of positions while gaining valuable experience in recruiting, customer service, leadership, training and development. Most recently before joining kpCompanies, he was a General Manager for Life Time Athletic. It was there he honed his relationship building skills and developed a passion for investing in others.

Outside of his work, Mat enjoys time with his family and coaching his two son’s baseball teams. He loves to stay active by participating in recreational sports, lighting weights, and various outdoor activities. He finds being active is the key to maintaining strong mental health.

Mat is a driven individual who brings his competitive mindset to his work. He utilizes every resource at his disposal to ensure that he presents his clients with the highest quality candidates for their open positions while providing first-rate customer service. He is a believer in the Platinum Rule: “Treat others the way they want to be treated”.


Executive Recruiter

Lynnaya Shelby is an Executive Recruiter for kpCompanies. She graduated from Minneapolis Washburn High School and went on to obtain her cosmetology license. After being a hairstylist for 10 years, she decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an Educator.

Lynnaya earned an AS in Early Childhood Education Birth to Third grade from Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Over the course of 12 years, she has held various classroom Educator positions while working at Harvest Preparatory Academy Charter School, LoveWorks Academy and The Mastery School in North Minneapolis.

The pandemic posed a lot of challenges for educators to adapt to a new norm, which opened the door for her to venture into a new industry using honed skills from participating in the hiring process for the Charter Schools she worked at.

Outside of work, Lynnaya enjoys spending time with family, friends, traveling, and attending sports events for her 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl) and being a new dog mom. Lynnaya is creative by nature and paints as an outlet to destress and maintain a healthy work life balance.

Lynnaya is a quick study and has a growth mindset. She is a nurturer by nature and has an eye for potential. She looks forward to honing her ability to build quality relationships, customer service, and advocacy skills she has developed over the course of her career to thrive in her new role.
